Well ...
Valentine rhyme fine is a primarily male name to me. St
Valentine,
Valentinus. I think the ending like fine is very "strong" - even in
Caroline and
Clementine it seems so. To me the better feminine name is
Valentina, or
Valentine rhyme queen.
Also
Valentine rhyme fine on a woman brings to mind
Valentine's Day, flowery pink-romancey images, in a way it just doesn't when it's a man's name. Like, if not for
Valentine's Day, it would not work at all for a girl - it'd seem more like
Constantine or
Augustine would. So it seems just a little bit too imagey and unlikely, like a name for a book character.
All that said, I don't hate it. It just doesn't suit my taste genderwise and I prefer
Valentina or
Valentine rhyme queen.
6/10, about as good as
Evelyn, better than
Evangeline. Not as good as
Vivian f or
Caroline.
