I love it, but prefer Anna. I don't really know if it can stand alone.

I don't love it as a full name, but between Anne/Ann and Annie, I'd pick Annie. I love it as a nickname, though.

Annie works by itself, I don't like Hannah but I do like Anna though, and Anne or Annie is also cute as a nickname for Anneliese.

I think it can stand alone fine. The only one I knew of is an adult, and I can imagine it on a woman of any age. I quite like it, but not enough to use it as a full name right now. I'd consider it as a nn for other names I love more.

Only as a nickname, imo, not as a standalone. There are so many lovely An- names to choose from. It wouldn't be hard to find one that Annie could be a nickname for.

I love Annie so very much. It's been my favorite since I became a thinking human.

I don't mind it alone, but I prefer it as a nickname. Susannah nn Annie is my favorite. I also love Anna, Anne, and Annabel.

I think it can stand alone, since as you say, it has stood alone very well for over a hundred years at least.
