[Opinions] Hollis
What do you think of the name Hollis? m and f?

I kinda like it on either. But it's a little too much surnamey/"country" vibe for me to want to use.
I love Hollis for a boy, and would consider using it as a mn. I hate for girls though.
I have a cousin named Hollis who was born in the early 80s. I loved her name when I was a child: it seemed so unique then, and I still like the sound/meaning. I also like Wallis and Holly.
I didn't know it was primarily a masculine name until later; it comes across as off-puttingly straitlaced when I imagine it on a guy. I think of it like a combination of Holland and Wallace, in that context...I dislike Holland but would prefer that over Hollis for a boy.

I love it for a boy and hate it for a girl. It just seems very rugged to me. I picture a quiet but strong sensitive outdoorsy type man.
Love it for a girl, like it for a boy.
One of my favorites for a boy. Meh for a girl.
