When I thought
Peninnah was pronounced peh-NEE-nah, I liked it as an alternative to the far more popular
Penelope (even though it did remind me of "panini"). However, upon learning that it's supposed to be pi-NIN-ah (or pee-NIN-ah), I grew to dislike it immensely. It joined the ranks of
Aurora and
Lilith as names that are too liquid for their own good.
