The meaning totally puts me off! Whenever I see it, it connotes the meaning instantly. That's only nerdy people who have that reaction - but here we all are...
I like some names with "unpleasant" meanings, like (classically) Claudia and Cecilia, which mean Lame and Blind, because I think there's secret strength in those "handicaps." But that's not so for "unfortunate"!
I also find it a little bit corny looking. PlaySkool-y.
