Lexa bounded into the Geissler-Morse household in rather unexpected circumstances when Max came across the child's plight after online headlines deemed her the "Unadoptable Child". Determined to give her the love and care every small child needs, Max convinced Luka and the rest of the clan to open their home and hearts to Lexa.
It hasn't been easy. Max and Luka aren't as young as they once were and Lexa is unlike any of their current children, despite the complex needs of their group including PTSD, Asperger's and ADHD, Lexa has stretched everybody's patience to breaking point. She isn't interested in communicating via Makaton, has major meltdowns which wreck the house, punches her siblings and displays self-harming behaviours.
HOWEVER, 9 (long) months down the line... Lexa doesn't attend mainstream school but instead learns at home with Max in very practical and creative ways. The family built "Lexa's Den" in the garden which is an artistic work in progress with Lexa's projects all over the walls (and floors and ceilings), it's insulated and heated with electric lighting and a place Lexa can escape to when it all becomes too much. She uses some Makaton now - especially with her brothers - and has even opened herself up to German to talk to her daddy and biggest sister. Lexa's huge heart has really been uncovered by this determined family and they are excited to watch her grow and flourish in their care.

Parker and Tasha are flourishing in their final year of school which they both attend full time - an achievement for the both of them which 3-years ago felt really unimaginable. Despite diagnoses of ADHD and PTSD respectively, the children have become aware of themselves and their individual needs.

Morgan and Suraya have completed their family by adopting twins from Haiti. Everyone is happy to have them as they are two cheerful and inquisitive little people. Delphine and Aicha get along very well and despite the age difference, they're together a lot. Aicha's friends from school like her well, so she goes out with the big girls often.
When Delphine is playing with Didier they both end up with their pockets full of treasures. Didier collects beautiful stones and shells when he can. Delphines clothes are often stuffed with living oddities like ladybugs, woodlice and crushed spiders. They've both been given boxes now, hoping that there will be fewer bug related deaths in the laundry...
Didier has trouble talking due to a cleft lip. Morgan and Suraya have scheduled an operation for him, to reduce his speach impediment and mke sure he's got less trouble eating. in 4 weeks time he'll receive the treatment and he'mostly looking forward to looking like the other children. Morgan and Suraya are mostly hopin to understand what he wants without the help of his sister translating all thetime.

Early in their forties Dylan and Ashley have their first real baby in the house. They were not sure what to expect as all the other kids came in older, but they were pleasantly surprise. Kaya is a laid back baby who cries only when she is hungry or her tummy is upset which does happen rarely after they found the right formula for her. The older kids are amazed by their baby sister, especially Elena is thrilled to have a real baby doll in the house and helps around a lot, the whole family grew closer with this experience.
Dylan and Ashley agreed on an open adoption with Kaya and are updating her parents regularly on her progress. They are really grateful that they evaluated the situation carefully and decided on what was the best for their daughter who should definitely stay a part of their lives.

Although Rebekah is used to being part of a larger family, she is used to being looked over due to her quiet nature and that simply doesn't seem to happen in the Sommerhoff household. There is always someone around, and her new sisters in particular seem to love to watch her draw, and are always asking questions about who her characters are. She seems to have retreated even further into her shell at this, and Len and Evie had to have a talk with their other children about respecting her personal space. They also have Rebekah see a therapist once a week, which both of them make a point to attend with her, to let her know that they aren't going anywhere and are willing to work with her.
Her nightmares are sticking around for the time being, but the Sommerhoffs are hoping that they will diminish with time, and the aforementioned therapy.
Xander and Celia have newborn set of twins - Tessa and Colby, and the young family is often around the main Sommerhoff household both for help, and to help out with the older children. Celia is going to take the year off work to look after the twins, and after that they will hopefully go into daycare.
Orson has been looking into colleges recently - specifically those with aeronautical programs as he is interested in working on airplanes. He is hoping to get into a college that has a baseball program as well, but if that doesn't work out then there's always amateur teams.

Although Rebekah is used to being part of a larger family, she is used to being looked over due to her quiet nature and that simply doesn't seem to happen in the Sommerhoff household. There is always someone around, and her new sisters in particular seem to love to watch her draw, and are always asking questions about who her characters are. She seems to have retreated even further into her shell at this, and Len and Evie had to have a talk with their other children about respecting her personal space. They also have Rebekah see a therapist once a week, which both of them make a point to attend with her, to let her know that they aren't going anywhere and are willing to work with her.
Her nightmares are sticking around for the time being, but the Sommerhoffs are hoping that they will diminish with time, and the aforementioned therapy.

Ivonette is the latest and final addition to the family, and she brings with her an unborn son, Adryan. Jorge and Stephanie were shocked when they found this out just before the adoption was finalized, but very supportive of their new adoptee.
Ivonette was originally raised by a single father until she was seven, having been hospitalized with psychosis. She is independent and rebellious (although she'd like to become more mature and stable), very interested in American culture, and enjoys listening to reggaeton music and playing soccer.
