I think it's a bit strange to use Hawaiian names if you're not Hawaiian, but as long as you pronounce the names correctly I think they're fine. They have beautiful meanings.

I’m not familiar with her, but apparently while she is not Hawaiian, she went to high school and university in Hawaii.
