Jacinda Ardern and partner Clarke Gayford welcomed
Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford. Neve was chosen because they liked the name, while Te Aroha (Maori for "love") honors the support they have received from New Zealanders during her pregnancy.
Ardern is the second elected head of state to give birth in office, after Pakistani PM Benazir Bhutto had her daughter Bakhtawar in 1990.
edit to clarify: They gave her Ardern as a second* middle name, not a double-barreled surname
