[Opinions] Re: Demetrius/Rhys

I like nick-names with spellings that differ from a formal source.
Michael & Mike
Thomas & Tom
Jacob & Jake
Stephen, Stefanie / Steve / Stevie
Stephanie Ann / Stephan / Stefan
Lee Leigh / Leah / Aliyah
I cannot fathom that a Catherine (with a "C") cannot be Kate or Katie or any other variation.
I find interest in the evolution of names that have extensive international histories amidst differing alphabets, yet combine into our common knowledge - that each raindrop or snowflake falls into these tributaries, which flow into the river; the river which flows into the Sea; and the sea into the ocean: yet new raindrops & snowflakes fall directly into larger bodies as well.
