[Opinions] Re: Old French names
I met a French woman earlier this year who initially thought my name was Virginie (I guess because I was introduced in a group as "from Virginia"). I didn't correct her for a few days, because I kind of liked being called that. It's more lighthearted than Virginia, imo.My real name is Victoria, and I would change my name to Victoire, if it didn't sound exclusively French/foreign. I like that it's shorter and doesn't require a nickname.Delphine, Marceline, Azélie, and Rosalie are pretty. I admire Clotilde, but I think it'd be a difficult name to have where I live. Salome is gorgeous, but too many people I know associate it negatively with the biblical character.
Cleophas mainly reminds me of Priapas...I think I like it?Chrysanthe for a guy is interesting.I prefer Zephyrin to Zephyr. It seems more complete.Zotique sounds annoyingly like exotic, unless I'm pronouncing it incorrectly.I like Napoleon. My generation probably associates it closely with Napolean Dynamite, though, so it's a GP.
