[Opinions] Nicknames for Elizabeth?
What do you think is the prettiest nickname for Elizabeth? I like Elle/Ella or Lily (some places say that this was an old pet name for Elizabeth). I go by Em with some of my friends, and Elle is the same with Elizabeth.

I have a few that I like for different types of people (Eli for a tomboy, Elize/Eliza for a 'quirky' person, Izzy for a younger person, Beth for an older person, etc.) Elle or El is good and fairly neutral. Ella is like Elle but a bit more princessy.

I was always partial to Beth. It's mature but not grandma-ish like Betty. I also like Eliza, even though some people consider that a separate name instead of a nickname.

I like Bessie and Lily the best. I know an Elizabeth who goes by Ebby.

All the Elizabeth's I have ever known personally:Buffy (25) (honestly it was such a shock when two years into our friendship I heard her announce herself as Elizabeth in a bank...)
Tizzy (28?)
Liz x2 (50s)
Lizzie (20)
Lizzy (20)
Liza (80s)
Eliza (2 years old)I think the prettiest option available is Elise, but all the Elise's I know use Elise as a full name. Same for Lisa, which I like. I think I would be a Lizzie.

I've always been more of a Beth fan than a Liz fan. Most of the Elizabeths I've known went by Lizzie as a kid and Liz as an adult (unless they always went by Elizabeth). I've known two Beths, though, and I prefer that nickname (though my mom doesn't like that it "rhymes with death"). If I had a little girl named Elizabeth, I can easily see myself calling her Beth or Bethie.I know there are Elizabeths who go by Ellie, I just haven't met them. I think most of them are younger, to be honest - like Elle & Ellie will become the new Liz & Lizzie for the upcoming generation.

I enjoy Beth as well.

I think my favorite would be Elle, and I think the prettiest are Elle, Elise, Lily, and Beth. I'm biased toward Elise because it's my mn, but I think of it more as its own name rather than a nn for Elizabeth.

My favourite cousin is named Elizabeth, she's always been called Beth.I like that best, I think.
Also Libby.

I can't think of another name that has so many nick-name / short name options, and so many of which can be independent; that if three Elizabeth(s) were born on the same day & lived on the same street--attended the same classes and had the same elementary teachers, the prettiest might be Elise, another, perhaps less pretty, yet far more beautiful, might be Elizabeth proper, and another might live the happiest childhood as Beth!

The prettiest I’d say would be Ella or Elise, maybe Beth. But I prefer some with more energy and feistiness (imo) so my favourites are Elsie, Eliza, Liza (as Lie-zuh or lee-zuh), and Libby.

Lizzie (though I prefer Elizabeth without a nickname).

My Lilli friend is Elizabeth Josephine! Her elder siblings got as close to Elizabeth as they could when she and they were all tiny, and Lilli was the lasting result. No nn is as lovely as Elizabeth, but it is inconveniently long, so I used it as a mn for my daughter to avoid the issue. And because it's a family name.

I like Bess and Betsy a lot for Elizabeth while I like Elise and Elsa for Elisabeth. Back to Bess and Betsy, while I do love them, they don't work with my surname so I'd probably use Ellie which is darling and works with my fave Elizabeth combo, Elizabeth Eve -- the EL from Elizabeth and the letter E from Eve make Ellie. Silly, I know, but it works for me.BTW, I pretty much appreciate all the nns more than Elizabeth / Elisabeth, lol.

Prettiest? Probably Ella, Elle, or Elise. These really aren’t my favorite nicknames for Elizabeth, but you asked for pretty ones.
