There's a lake/pond in my area called Walden Pond, so I wouldn't be able to use it without feeling awkward. lol

That's actually what inspired the name, that and the book named after it. I'm a big Thoreau fan.

Hi !!!I have no links with It.
But It is too similar to Walder.
I'm an ASOIAF fan so Walder (Frey) has a bad vibe.Walden is also too close to Waldo. I saw Black Mirror and another time It is a negative link.I Just prefer Walter.

I'd think 'oh, his parents are Thoreau fans...ok'. I remember mentioning it in a 'name this hipster baby' thread a few years ago, so I guess it strikes me as a little cliche (eta: in a 'what's the preppiest name I can think of that also has ties to counterculture' kind of way), but I like the sound.I prefer Waldo.

It makes me think of walnuts. Also it was the name of the new character that appeared in later seasons of Two and a Half Men.
