[Opinions] Éclair
Hi !!!WDYTO Éclair?
It means 'lightning, flash' in French.
I know that is also a kind of pastry...I've just seen it in the first movie of Fairy Tail.Personal Name Lists https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/125456

Pastry is all I can think about, and I'm sure most people would have the same problem. I don't say a name is unusable very often, but this one is.

I feel like I've seen it in a name before, but I have no idea where that would have been...maybe it was a surname? But I'll echo everyone else and say it's not usable. It'd be about like calling someone Cream Puff.Sinclair could be an alternative?

OKAYi'm really mad now that i know it has such a cool meaning in French. bc i cannot separate it from the pastry..this is so unfair.howeverrr it'd be a great name for a cat or bunny. or an endearing nn for s Claire.

I once lived in a dorm with a woman nicknamed E-Claire,,because she was English and her name was, well, Claire.

aww. It'd be perfect for a bunny.

I just think of the pastry, really.

...and that's exactly why it's unusable. How about Claire?

I don't like Eclair as a name. For me, it's just a food.I remember I saw this as the name of a French girl in the anime Ouran High School Host Club. When I first heard it, I couldn't help but laugh. (It especially weirded me out since the word eclair is grammatically masculine in French.)

Bite into it, and the whipped cream comes gushing out.Clare is so much nicer!

Too bad about the pastry, it could have been a cute name. But as it is ... totally, irretrievably ruined.

The word itself sounds cute, but it never works as a name IMO.

Not good..Too connected with the pastry in many countries. I'd snigger if I saw it used.

All Pastry

Sorry but it’s too tied to the pastry for me to ever want to use.

Anime names are always so entertaining :) This is definitely not usable in any English-speaking country that has cakes, i.e., all of them. It's also the reason why 'Anna Claire' is a bad combo.

It would be a great name for a sausage dog!

Yeah, I just think of the pastry and even without that association, I still wouldn't care for it. I want to take the 'E' and attach it to the end so it reads 'Claire' instead. A much suitable alternative.

Bad idea. Probably a bad idea in French-speaking countries too. Like naming somebody Canoli or Meringue.
