Robin is one of my Very Most Faves for a boy. No, I never think of Robin Hood. If I think of anyone, it's Robyn Hitchcock (a guy).I think it's fine on girls, too, but I really like it on a boy.- chazda

I like it for a boy, but probably wouldn't use it since it's used more often for girls (I don't care for it on a girl at all, esp. not spelled Robyn). I don't automatically think of Robin Hood, and not even Robin Williams. It is more of a "nature" name to me. :b

Boy.I love it as a nn for RobertI think of Christopher Robin, not Robin Hood. Robin Williams also comes to mind.

Robin is a "semi-favorite" of mine (for a boy; it is not my style for a girl). Even though I know about Robin Hood, that wasn't the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the name Robin.

Girl - I've never known a boy with this name, I didn't know that it was unisex till recently

No, I don't think of Robin Hood.Kristen~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I like it for both genders. I see the spelling Robyn as exclusively female, but Robin as suitable for either gender (prefer the spelling Robin).
I occasionally use it as a pet name for my boyfriend, Rob, and would consider using it for a child as a way of honouring him, without actually using the name Robert.

I have to say for a boy, because I know a boy called Robin so its hard to imagine on a girl.
Do you believe in Fairies?

I prefer it on a girl but I don't hate it on a boy. I know 1 Robyn, a girl.
It's ok, doesn't really appeal to me.

Boy. Like it, but only on a boy. And no, I didn't think of Robin Hood when I saw it - there are other famous Robins, too.

Boy or Girl? Robin = boy, Robyn = girl. I prefer it for a boy though these days.Like it? Yes I do, especially for a boy.Did you think of Robin Hood when you saw it? Kind of, but that doesn't really bother me at all.

I love the name Robin, on a girl. I think that it's nice on a boy as well, but I prefer it as a mn in that case.
I don't think of Robin Hood at all, I think of the beautiful bird, which is why I don't really mind which gender it's on.Yes, I know how lonely life can be.

It's not a favorite of mine, but that's just because I don't like widely known names. I like it's connections to Robin Hood (who is like awesome) and Robin Willams (who is funny!). So it's not on my hate list.

I like it.I prefer it for a boy, but don't mind it for a girl if it's specifically given in honour of the bird.I don't think of Robin Hood.

I don't like it. I never have, either. I don't think of Robin Hood necessarily at first, but that doesn't make it better. It's too nature-y, and it's not a nice sound or look.

Prefer as a boy's name but it's ok for a girl.
I know two male Robins, one female Robin (who is the daughter of one the men I know), and one female Robyn (hate that spelling.)I like it a lot.I don't think of Robin Hood immediately, but eventually I do. I like the association.

Hate that spelling too. I know one male and one female.

Boy or Girl? Boy
Like it? I prefer it for a boy because of the associations that I have with the name and its (in my opinion) masculine sound, but I don't really like it either way.
Did you think of Robin Hood when you saw it? No, I thought of Robin Goodfellow (Puck) and the actor Robin Williams.

I think it can be used as both genders, but I tend to lead towards female usage. It brought to mind the Boy Wonder/ Batman's side-kick for me. Also, in the novel The Corrections, there is a character named Robin who has a lesbian affair outside of marriage. I'm undecided as to weather I like it or not.

I LOVE Robin, for a girl only. No I didn't think of Robin Hood I thought of my two friends (girls) that are named Robin."There is none Holy like The Lord, there is none besides Thee; there is no Rock like our God." (1 Samuel 2:2 RSV)
