We had friends who, when they started popping out children in the early 80s, (and pop them out they did---one born in 1981, one in 1982, one in 1984, but then there was a six year break before the fourth and last), told us that they were going to name a girl Brandy. But when they did have their only girl in 1984, they named her Jennifer. As much as I rolled my eyes at that, due to the then massive popularity of Jennifer, it was still better that they evidently changed their minds.
