I don't like any boyish nicknames or full names for girls.
It's like a buffalo plaid flannel - trendy and deliberately underdressed.

Too informal for either gender. And too familiar/overused too.
Lottie is a nickname too but it fits better as given name because it is not SO popular.

Only as a nn for Charlotte, Charlene etc.
My problem with nicknames being used as full names is that nicknames, short forms etc go through fashion cycles. just like full names. But if you have, say, Charlotte as your full name and are known as Charlie, then if Charlie becomes too popular then you can become either Charlotte or Lottie ... which a Charlie could never do without tedious name-changing.
