I think Bruna is cute, but I wouldn't use it because I think it's too unfamiliar and would be perceived as odd where I live. I find Brunonia to be a mouthful, just really cumbersome and not really appealing. I imagine a story where a tomboyish princess who always goes by a nickname escapes from her castle to live among the common people. At the end of the story her buffoonish parents hunt her down and call her by her real name, Brunonia, much to her consternation and the amusement of her friends.
