I honestly don’t like it that much. It sounds like the name of a stripper. Or an old lady. Yes I realize that’s a weird thing to say. It needs to be a nickname. I think something like Katrina, Katherine, or Kristine.

I like Kitty as a nickname for Katharine more then a full name. It sounds more feminine then Kit, which would be a cute nickname for a little boy. I would probably call a girl Katharine with that spelling, though Catalina is nice for a form of Katherine. I don't know how you manage to go from Catalina to Kitty though, even though it is related to Katharine.

I love Kitty as a nickname from Katherine. Its in my top 10!

No, I really don't like it. I think it's like Ginger: only certain type of woman cna carry it off.
Kitty is just a generic cat name to me. We used to have a cat called Hey Kitty, and even today we still sometimes just call our cats, who all have names, Kitty.

I like it as a nn only, I think it would be ridiculous as a full name. I'm using it as a nn for a character named Kathleen.

I think of it as a rather endearing nickname, and I wouldn't mind it as a first name either. I think it's usable as a nn for any name really. I had a best friend in middle school who went by Kitty (her real name was Stephanie) and I think it was a self-given nn, possibly chosen because her surname is related to cats.
It works on grown women as well in my opinion, mostly because of the association with Kitty Forman from That 70's Show.

Kitty is solely a nickname in my book. It's cutey for a child but I hate it for an adult. It's not something I would thing to use alone or as a nickname.
I think of at as a nickname for Katherine since I associate with with Jane Austen's Catherine "Kitty" Bennett in Pride and Prejudice.
