WDYT of Azure, for a girl? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Azure looks nice. Lovely, actually. I love the color. Not totally wild about the zh sound here.

I think it is pretty. I like the color blue which it means, and it is simple and short and would be a very cute name for a girl or woman that had blue eyes. The name also reminds me of aquamarines and sapphires, which have been made into a pretty necklace or bracelet and just the thought of it is so nice. I do not know where that image comes from, either.

All I can think of is the time, while playing Scrabble with my husband, that I used my Z tile by creating the word "azure." He was like "WTF?" (Engineer who didn't like to read and thus did not have a large vocabulary.) He sort of never forgave me for it.Actually, it's pretty. I approve.

My husband doesn't like to read, either, but he's actually much better than me at this online word game we both play. I thought for sure I would beat him, but nope. Being a non-reader didn't seem to matter, in this case. :P

You know, that happens to me with my close friend, too! He consistently beats me at Words with Friends, despite me being a prolific reader and him being a prolific video-game player.

The game we play is Wordscapes, which is a word-finding game. It's weird, isn't it? I mean, it's not like I have some amazing vocabulary or anything, I just assumed I would be better, lol.

Well, it's way better than Blue or Blu or Bleu, but I'm not crazy about the zh sound, which is like a giant insect zooming by my ear. zzzzhhhh!
It also sounds like a car model, like a Cobalt.

Hi Billina !!!I love colour names! Infact Azzurra (the Italian form) is already in my list. I was really surprised when I found that the z in Azure is pronounced more like 'Asia' than 'zoom'. This fact is so particular!I think that Azure is a whimsical, ethereal, modern, bright name! It's fresh but very elegant and refined too! I rate it 8/10!

I think it's very pretty. Makes a nice middle.

I like it (and also Azura). IRL I'd worry that it's hard for kids to pronounce (then again it's hard for me to pronounce and I'm an adult...) It has some cool nickname potential too. Azzy, Zura, Zuri, ...Zuzu?

I love it. It was first on my radar when one of my favourite authors, Louise Erdrich, named her youngest daughter Azure.

I think it’s a lovely name. Modern, but not too out-there. It’s a color name, some people like that, some don’t. I prefer it to color names like Scarlet or Violet which just seem too over-used to me.

It would be super pretty, but might I recommend Azura instead? I know a boy named Azure and sometimes his name sounds like Asher when said aloud.

I'm not going to use it. I just wondered what people thought.

I pronounce Azure like Uh-zoor (American English)Asher depends on if I’m speaking English or not. Generaly Aesh-ur or Ahsh-er (hard r)
