It's bad on any gender of human being.
'Zep' as a nickname for an actual name, like Giuseppe/Giuseppina, would be cool, though.

I think Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey, a zep is what's called a sub or a hoagie in other places. A big sandwich, that is. Because of the "torpedo" roll it's served on.
