WDYT of Missy? **Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam/Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine, and a side order of ham**

I went to high school with one. I never knew if it was her full name or a nickname. I hate it, so simpering and childish.

It's so lame. I'd say it was tacky like a porn star's name, but I'd think even a porn star would have more imagination than that.
Also, Missy is like Buster; it's what a kid gets called when they're in hot water or about to get into it. "Just a minute, Buster, put down that slingshot!" or "Where do you think you're going with that sprayh paint, missy?"

I am so accustomed to Missy that I don't even notice that it's, you know, Missy. I grew up with a ton of Missys. It's just a name to me, sort of like Jenny is.Now it sounds about 50 - not a baby name - and can make me wish she had come of age and called herself Melissa. But some women can just really pull off Missy, imo.

It sounds like the nickname of a haughty young orphan who came from a rich family. I like it as a nickname for Artemisia, though I prefer the full name.
