I have an ancestor named Sophronia! I think she was somewhere on my maternal grandmother's side. She apparently went by her middle name, which was something less remarkable (I want to say it was Jane, although I could be mistaken). It's a bit much for a name, but hey, that's my favorite kind. It also makes me think of the word "symphony".
I honestly hadn't realized the possibility of Sophie or Sophia as nicknames until I read the other responses. That dampens my opinion of it a little, since I'm not fond of either.

Sophronia is beautiful and has a fun neo-Victorian flair.
I love Sophronia, but I pronounce the first vowel as a schwa (roughly "suh").
I pronounce them both very similarly, and I think both are lovely :)
