Elsa and Lilibeth first met ten years ago when Lili was an exchange student living with Elsa's family. The girls had a short fling during Lili's stay there but Elsa hadn't yet accepted her interest in other girls and promptly broke up with Lili when Lili asked her if they could become official.
Five years ago, Elsa had finally come out to her family but none of them seemed incredibly thrilled with the idea of their beloved Elsa marrying another woman. So Elsa took off to the only place she knew held someone who would accept her. She and Lili had kept in contact over the years. In fact, it was under Lili's suggestion and guidance that Elsa told her family that she's a lesbian.
When Elsa showed up on her doorstep, Lili quickly welcomed her into her tiny one bedroom apartment. Because of their correspondence, it felt like no time had passed between them. They quickly resumed their relationship. Soon after, Lili confessed her love for Elsa and her desire to get married, but Elsa, knowing how much her schooling meant to Lili, suggested they wait until Lili graduated and started working full time.
Well, that time came. They wed. They honeymooned. And then they chose to settle in a two bedroom apartment. It gave Elsa space to do her freelance work while leaving them space in case they chose to expand their family.

Turns out, moving into the two bedroom was a good idea. Almost as soon as they settled, Lili got major baby fever. A lot of her coworkers had families. One had just had a baby; another just announced she was expecting.
Lili and Elsa were quickly matched with a pair of twins of Maori descent. When they were adopted, Lili insisted they add a Polish name to each of the twins to honor Elsa's family and heritage.

"Oh thank God," Elsa laughed. "I didn't think I could take it much longer."

One day soon after she moved in with Lili in the mailbox, Elsa found a letter from her elderly Great Uncle Albin. In it, he confided in her that the reason he divorced his wife so many years ago was he realized men caught his attention more than his own wife did. When he heard about Elsa and her family's reaction, he wanted to reach out to her and make sure she knew she wasn't alone.
It didn't surprise Elsa much to hear of his passing this year. He must have been nearly ninety. However, it did surprise her when her family contacted her, miffed that he had left Elsa all of his money and belongings, including a lovely home in the Polish countryside.
Lili suggested they take a quick trip to visit as it was Elsa's thirtieth birthday. Elsa didn't need much convincing.

Especially after realizing that the biological means would not be in my wheelhouse so to speak but science has come so far and, god, Elsa, if we ever get the chance to d0 IVF, I think we should." And so, for their fifth wedding anniversary, Elsa's present to Lili was the first appointment.
Lili just gave birth to their daughter.

With still quite some money from Elsa's Great Uncle Albin, ruin has not yet arrived at the Michels's doorstep. Lili ended up bringing home a parrot from the center. A family had adopted it then released it after realizing they didn't want to keep it anymore. It ended up injured at the center.
"It would appear her last family loved Anne of Green Gables because when she gets nervous, she squawks out the characters' names," Lili laughed when she brought the beautiful bird home.
"In that case, we should call her Avonlea," Elsa suggested.

"It's not quite the same," Lili admitted, "but these creatures deserve the same love and care in their captivity as the creatures at the center did in their crisis."

With the twins turning nine and Evie four, Elsa brought up the idea of adding to their family again. Immediately jumping on board, Lili started the process of adopting again. With a baby in the house again, Lili found herself struggling once more with baby fever. "I guess it's an every five years sort of thing," Elsa joked as they went in for another appointment to see about a second round of IVF.
Lili was overjoyed when the doctors told her about the successful implantation but terrified when, about two and a half months later, she woke up cramping and bleeding. She scared everyone awake with her screaming. Elsa took her into the emergency room and the doctors did everything they could but they couldn't stop it.
Lili miscarried.

One night while Lili and Elsa were out with their kids, a drunken man approached them. He began to berate them for their relationship, spewing hatred from his lips like the religious spew prayers from theirs.
Finally, Elsa broke. She'd faced enough hate from her own family. She swung at the man and hit him. It only served to intensify the fight. He swung. She swung. He hit. She hit. He kicked as did she. Because the man was drunk, she easily began to win, hitting and kicking him until he passed out.
Lili had to drag Elsa off him, mortified as the police sirens began to draw nearer. Elsa is to go in for a court date later this year. Lili isn't sure what to expect.

Because of the trouble Elsa got into with the law last year, she and Lili started realizing how much trouble they were having between them. "You can't just go around hitting people!" Lili yelled. "What if one of the kids annoyed you, huh? Would you go and nearly kick them to death too?"
When Elsa received her sentencing, Lili immediately filed for divorce. She sold all of Elsa's belongings and moved the kids and herself into a slightly smaller location. The first few nights, Evie, Andy, and Beau all ended up sleeping in bed with her, a comfort she didn't know she needed.

To add to the hurt and pain accumulated over the last few years, Lili's older sister passed away recently. A single woman living on her own, she had battled depression for most of her life and it ended up being the end of her. Lili took some time off work to grieve.

Zoe was out on a run with Zizi when the dog spotted a creature in the bushes across the street. Pulling away from Zoe, Zizi dashed towards the scent. As she ran through the road, a car, missing the dog due to her size, hit the animal. Zizi had to be taken in for emergency surgery.

With Zach and Zoe getting ready to head off to college, Lili thought she knew what her oldest son wanted to do in life. For years, he talked about wanting to be an artist. He drew everywhere at any time. But he came home from school one day and said, "Mom, I think I wanna work with kids. Be a teacher or- or maybe a social worker. I wanna do some good in this world, you know?"
Apparently, one of his classes went to volunteer with a group of underserved kids and he fell in love. He knew from the look in those kids' eyes that he had touched their lives.

With all the hardship they've endured over the years, Lili decided it was time the whole family go on vacation. After much discussion and a democratic vote, they settled on a few weeks in Greece. Though their stay was short, it was long enough for both Lili and Zoe to find themselves in relationships with women from the islands.
Lili's new girlfriend, Kyveli, owned the hotel they stayed at, but she frequently traveled elsewhere, both for research to better her own establishment and for her writing. She promised she would bring her two daughters to visit Lili and the kids as often as she could find the excuse.
Zoe's girlfriend, Polly, is studying to be a doctor and chose to transfer to Zoe's school to be closer.

Kyveli recently released her first novel, one she has been working on for years and years. It seems the change of pace and location gave her enough motivation and fresh ideas to finally finish it. She has already begun to write her second.
The distance did not do well for Ghislain and Zoe. After only a few months of dating, Zoe couldn't stand not seeing him regularly so she went to visit him, only to find that he had been cheating on her. Apparently he couldn't atand the distance even more than she couldn't.
As Zach and Jasmine started their new life together, moving in after college as they prep for their wedding, they decided they wanted to get a pet. Jasmine convinced Zach that a lizard was the perfect pet. She named it Lizzo.

Elsa and Lilibeth first met ten years ago when Lili was an exchange student living with Elsa's family. The girls had a short fling during Lili's stay there but Elsa hadn't yet accepted her interest in other girls and promptly broke up with Lili when Lili asked her if they could become official.
Five years ago, Elsa had finally come out to her family but none of them seemed incredibly thrilled with the idea of their beloved Elsa marrying another woman. So Elsa took off to the only place she knew held someone who would accept her. She and Lili had kept in contact over the years. In fact, it was under Lili's suggestion and guidance that Elsa told her family that she's a lesbian.
When Elsa showed up on her doorstep, Lili quickly welcomed her into her tiny one bedroom apartment. Because of their correspondence, it felt like no time had passed between them. They quickly resumed their relationship. Soon after, Lili confessed her love for Elsa and her desire to get married, but Elsa, knowing how much her schooling meant to Lili, suggested they wait until Lili graduated and started working full time.
Well, that time came. They wed. They honeymooned. And then they chose to settle in a two bedroom apartment. It gave Elsa space to do her freelance work while leaving them space in case they chose to expand their family.

One day soon after she moved in with Lili in the mailbox, Elsa found a letter from her elderly Great Uncle Albin. When he heard about Elsa and her family's reaction, he wanted to reach out to her and make sure she knew she wasn't alone.
It didn't surprise Elsa much to hear of his passing this year. He must have been nearly ninety. However, it did surprise her when her family contacted her, miffed that he had left Elsa all of his money and belongings, including a lovely home in the Polish countryside.
Lili suggested they take a quick trip to visit as it was Elsa's thirtieth birthday. Elsa didn't need much convincing.

With still quite some money from Elsa's Great Uncle Albin, ruin has not yet arrived at the Michels's doorstep. Lili ended up bringing home a parrot from the center. A family had adopted it then released it after realizing they didn't want to keep it anymore. It ended up injured at the center.
"It would appear her last family loved Anne of Green Gables because when she gets nervous, she squawks out the characters' names," Lili laughed when she brought the beautiful bird home.
"In that case, we should call her Avonlea," Elsa suggested.

With a baby in the house again, Lili found herself struggling once more with baby fever. "I guess it's an every five years sort of thing," Elsa joked as they went in for another appointment to see about a second round of IVF.
Lili was overjoyed when the doctors told her about the successful implantation but terrified when, about two and a half months later, she woke up cramping and bleeding. She scared everyone awake with her screaming. Elsa took her into the emergency room and the doctors did everything they could but they couldn't stop it.
Lili miscarried.

One night while Lili and Elsa were out with their kids, a drunken man approached them. He began to berate them for their relationship, spewing hatred from his lips like the religious spew prayers from theirs.
Finally, Elsa broke. She'd faced enough hate from her own family. She swung at the man and hit him. It only served to intensify the fight. He swung. She swung. He hit. She hit. He kicked as did she. Because the man was drunk, she easily began to win, hitting and kicking him until he passed out.
Lili had to drag Elsa off him, mortified as the police sirens began to draw nearer. Elsa is to go in for a court date later this year. Lili isn't sure what to expect.

Because of the trouble Elsa got into with the law last year, she and Lili started realizing how much trouble they were having between them. "You can't just go around hitting people!" Lili yelled. "What if one of the kids annoyed you, huh? Would you go and nearly kick them to death too?"
When Elsa received her sentencing, Lili immediately filed for divorce. She sold all of Elsa's belongings and moved the kids and herself into a slightly smaller location. The first few nights, Evie, Andy, and Beau all ended up sleeping in bed with her, a comfort she didn't know she needed.

Zoe was out on a run with Zizi when the dog spotted a creature in the bushes across the street. Pulling away from Zoe, Zizi dashed towards the scent. As she ran through the road, a car, missing the dog due to her size, hit the animal. Zizi had to be taken in for emergency surgery.

With Zach and Zoe getting ready to head off to college, Lili thought she knew what her oldest son wanted to do in life. For years, he talked about wanting to be an artist. He drew everywhere at any time. But he came home from school one day and said, "Mom, I think I wanna work with kids. Be a teacher or- or maybe a social worker. I wanna do some good in this world, you know?"
Apparently, one of his classes went to volunteer with a group of underserved kids and he fell in love. He knew from the look in those kids' eyes that he had touched their lives.

With all the hardship they've endured over the years, Lili decided it was time the whole family go on vacation. After much discussion and a democratic vote, they settled on a few weeks in Greece. Though their stay was short, it was long enough for both Lili and Zoe to find themselves in relationships with women from the islands.
Lili's new girlfriend, Kyveli, owned the hotel they stayed at, but she frequently traveled elsewhere, both for research to better her own establishment and for her writing. She promised she would bring her two daughters to visit Lili and the kids as often as she could find the excuse.
Zoe's girlfriend, Polly, is studying to be a doctor and chose to transfer to Zoe's school to be closer.

Kyveli recently released her first novel, one she has been working on for years and years. It seems the change of pace and location gave her enough motivation and fresh ideas to finally finish it. She has already begun to write her second.
The distance did not do well for Ghislain and Zoe. After only a few months of dating, Zoe couldn't stand not seeing him regularly so she went to visit him, only to find that he had been cheating on her. Apparently he couldn't atand the distance even more than she couldn't.
As Zach and Jasmine started their new life together, moving in after college as they prep for their wedding, they decided they wanted to get a pet. Jasmine convinced Zach that a lizard was the perfect pet. She named it Lizzo.
