Claire. It wasn't until recently that I learned how
Camille is pronounced in French but I was told the male version was pronounced differently. And I never heard that
Lucille can be pronounced two different ways. (I certainly don't remember any of this from high school French class.) I had always assumed that
Lucille was a diminutive of
Lucie and had a different pronunciation.
It makes sense, though, that
Camille and
Lucille should be pronounced similarly.
