[Opinions] Re: Italian feminine names

Alma (7/10). I like it enough but would not use it. I have a great aunt named Alma Mary who went by Mickie. I think she changed her name legally to Velma.
Ludmilla (3/10) The "lewd" syllable at the beginning sours the name for me.
Lisandra (see Lysandra) (6/10) This is an interesting choice, and I'd admire it on a real person, but wouldn't use it.
Gemma (7/10) I think it's sweet, but it's a bit stale to me.
Tecla (8/10) It reminds me of Tesla, which is interesting, and I have never met one, yet it seems fresh and interesting.
Lucilla (6/10) I thought the Italianate was Lucile. I love the French form, Lucille.
Selene (8/10) I've always thought Selena and Celina were pretty; Selene is adequate.
Tessa (4/10) It seems diminutive and insubstantial.
Iole (7/10) Interesting and pretty to say.
Perla (8/10) Adorable.
Nives (3/10) I do not see the appeal.
Amaranta (3/10) Too heavy.
Cassandra (6/10) Pretty but a little stale.
Elettra (5/10) Pretty but a little ostentatious for me.
Fedra (see Phaedra) (5/10) I prefer Phaedra, but even Phaedra is still only a 6/10.
Diletta (2/10) It reminds me of dilation and dilution.
Clizia (see Clytia) (0/10). This is a "NO" in English for obvious reasons.
Iris (10/10) I love and would use Iris.
Melania (5/10) I would have been named Melanie if I was a girl. Not a favorite.
Aida (8/10) Though I prefer it spelled Ida, this has musical associations that are favorable.
Micol (0/10) I do not see any appeal; why not beautiful Michelina?
Corinna (8/10) Pretty, unusual. I like this and Corinne.
Priscilla (6/10) The nickname Prissy is unfortunate.
Doris (7/10) Probably ripe for revival in English among the very, very daring urban bourgeoisie.
Ersilia (5/10) I'd rate it higher, but strong "urrrrr" sounds are repellent to my palate AND palette.
Naomi (5/10) I have a cousin named Naomi. She's annoying.
Evita (5/10) Seems dated, and would opt for more classic Iva (or Eva).
Tania (5/10) Here is one that should be a nickname for something more classically beautiful: Tatiana, Antonia, or Antonina.
Raissa (see Raisa) (2/10) I just don't like it; it seems dowdy.
Amarilli (see Amaryllis) (7/10) Interesting.
Melissa (6/10) It's stale, but pretty.
Eloisa (6/10) There are just better variants. I'd rather see Eloise, Heloise, or Lois. I'd also prefer unrelated Louise or Louisa.
Miranda (8/10) I like it, even if the associations to the character Miranda Hobbs are inescapable. I don't think I could use it, but do appreciate it.Sparrow
