[Opinions] Wilder
WDYT of Wilder, for a boy? **Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam/Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine, and a side order of ham**

I like it a lot better than the two categories it belongs to: surname names and "rough and tough" names (ie Maverick, Hunter, Rowdy, Gunner) because of the Laura Ingalls Wilder connection. But I still prefer it relegated to the middle name position.

I think I've made it clear that I have a real soft spot for this name. I like Wilds too. I don't think I'd use them because they are so "on trend" (annoying expression) and pretty much the same kind of name as Hunter, which I despise.

It just doesn't seem like a name. I mean: Wild, Wilder, Wildest.

Other than the Laura Ingalls books, I had never heard of it used for a name. Last summer I met a little boy named Wilder, and he was adorable... crazy and wild, but adorable. He had a brother named Willie. (They were about 2 and 4)
In theory, I think it’s handsome. But, I could never name my child name with wild in it.

I did consider Wilder/Vilder when I was pregnant, so I obviously like it. But I realized that I didn't like it enough to use it. I prefer Wilde/Vilde

I like it. I also like Wiley a lot.

I like it a lot. The sound appeals to me greatly even though it is kind of a bizarre word name and I don't tend to be a fan of surnames. I think it gives me good nostalgic feelings about the Little House book although I see many ways in which those were problematic looking back and so I'm not sure it's a positive in a name.

It seems dumb to me. Worse than Rebel or Tanner, more like Riot.

It's okay. I don't know that more boys in the world need to be imprinted with "wildness" these days...Wyeth is one of my guilty pleasure.

Huge guilty pleasure for me. I don't usually like trendy or surname names at all, but I have a crush on the name Wilder for sure.
