What (if any) nicknames do you think would arise naturally from the name Lavender?
It’s one of my favourite names and one I would consider using in real life so I’m curious. I have an unusual longer name and have never been consistently nicknamed anything, so I don’t think nicknames are always inevitable, but I would like to know anyway.

I tend to think of it as a better middle name, probably because it's hard to shorten, but it's not inevitable. Lavender looks long but it's only three syllables and plenty of 3-syllable names don't end up with nicknames.
The ones I can think of are too childlike to survive long: Lala, Venny, Lavi, Ladi, Lali, Vendy, etc.

I think Lav would arise most naturally. Additional possibilities could include Ven, Lennie / Lenny, Lady, Avie...

If I knew a Lavender, and felt affectionate towards her, and was in a relationship to her such that I could attempt to bestow a nickname without seeming disrespectful - I think I would just call her Lala or Lali (la- as in lavender or lavish, not lah- as in lava or lavage).

Luckily for you, 'loo' has entirely eclipsed 'lavvy' or 'lav', both formerly short forms of lavatory!

Lav is what I was worried about
Lavender seems to be susceptible to the same nicknames as lavatory, but I didn’t know how common lav and lavvy are now.
Lala occurred to me too. It’s not the worst nickname in the world, I suppose.

I really like the idea of Enna. There’s also Ava, or just L (Elle) or maybe Ella. Or you could use initials or middles to get to a nickname (I have Lal for Lavender using initials).

Oh, I’m not looking for ideas for nicknames to use, I’m looking for ones that would happen naturally so I can decide whether they’re worth risking.

Ah, I see, yeah I think Lav is most intuitive, but I don’t think it’s necessarily the most common term for toilet, and I can see Lav getting associated with the person after a while. Basically I love Lavender too, and don’t think Lav is that bad.

The only NN that would come naturally to me is Lav, and I don't like that much. I don't consider 3 syllables a long name, anyway.

Lav is a bit of a problem, I agree. Hopefully it can get away with no nickname.

Lavvie is the most intuitive, I think. But maybe Ven or Vennie?
