[Opinions] Marcia/Marsha
This name is one I recently came across. I think it's cool. I was waiting for my step mom to drop off my brother and there was a mom and she was calling her child Marsha (or was it Marcia?)
Well anywho, I researched the name and I like were the name came from and how it sounds.
What I want to know is what you think of it
Also which is better Marcia or Marsha? The probolem is that some people will say "Mar-ce--ah" and I don't like that. But I don't like the "Sha" in Marsha. So I'm stuck. What should I do?Where's the Kaboom? There's suppose to be an Earth shattering kaboom!" -Marvin the Martian.

I prefer Marcia.Lots of people will know how to pronounce it, and it'll be pretty easy to correct those who don't. It also looks prettier to me. I think Marcia is one of those names that isn't too popular now, but is due for a revival.

One of my dds has a friend, Marcia, who was born in India. She pronounces it mar-CEE-a which is much prettier to my way of thinking. The other pronunciation makes me think of Marcia (MAR-sha) Brady. ;-)

I prefer Marcia- I think Marsha takes away from Marcus. It also sounds a bit 'lazy'.

Marsha, hands down. I dislike how the -cia looks on Marcia, and while I know it's not pronounced that way, I want to say Mar-CEE-ah.

I like Marcia pronounced Mahr-SEE-ah. If you want it pronounced as Marsha, why not spell it Marsha?Though if people in USA pronounce Marcia a Marsha and you prefer this spelling, use Marcia and correct the few who pronounce it the other way.I'm not fond of the sh-sound in the middle of names."But it’s all right now.

I say MAHR-see-ah for Marcia, and far prefer that. It reminds me of "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie". But if you want it pronounced Marsha, I'd go ahead and spell it that way. Makes more sense._____________________________________________________________________Elinor

I prefer Marcia, and not just because I dislike the "marsh" part of Marsha. Marcia's supposed to be a fem. form of Marcus, and the Marsha spelling completely obliterates the visual connection between the two names.

I think Marcia is definatly better......i don't think that there is any other way to pronouce it other than "Mar-ce-ah" and "Mar-sha". I don't really like either of these name or how they are pronouced...but Marica and "Mar-ce-ah" are definatly better...-Samantha-

MaricaI realize Marica is a mistyping of Marcia, but I really like Marica (or Marika)."But it’s all right now.

All I see is the word marsh in Marsha. I love marsh mucking as much as the next gal, but I don't think I'd want the word in my name. Go with Marcia. It's prettier and less dated looking in my opinion. ----Betsy-----

I like Marcia - I don't like the 'laziness' of the Marsha spelling.

"Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" I automatically think of the Brady Bunch, but most kids born today probably won't know anything about it (then again, they might given the popularity of the show). The name is personally nms but if I had to pick, I would use the spelling Marcia.
