[Opinions] Popular names 2019
As Rachel Shaina noted, the SSA has released their 2019 top names. The stats are now also available on this site: https://www.behindthename.com/top/lists/united-states/2019
That means we finally have a winner for this year's prediction game... congratulations to junghalim!

Some of the popularity-related tools on this site can be hard to find, so here's a summary of those relating to the American data.
https://www.behindthename.com/top/state.php
Animations of popularity at the state level for a select group of names. Choose a name and watch as the popularity wanes and waxes over the last 60 years. If a state shows as black, the name isn't in the top 100. Otherwise, the "hotter" the color, the more popular the name is in that state.
https://www.behindthename.com/top/meta.php
An analysis of what *properties* of names are most popular. For example, what is the most common length of names, or the most common initial letter?
https://www.behindthename.com/top/beyond.php
This is available to registered users only, but it allows you to search ALL of the SSA's data, beyond just the top 1000. It includes all names that have been given at least 5 times in a year.
https://www.behindthename.com/top/us.php
An analysis across all years the SSA has released data, from 1880 to now.
And finally, the following is a tool (suggested by contributor Jason Clauss) that provides a visual of the top 50. It hasn't really been polished yet, but you can take a look. You're going to need to scroll your screen to the right to see all the data, so you might want to give it a pass if you're on your phone.

Interesting links! Thanks for the update as well.
And yes, being on the phone, especially in dark mode, doesn't make the last tables easy to read. I'll have another look when I'm on a proper computer.

Ooh, the beyond top 1000 feature is cool. Glad to see my darling Sophronia is not yet extinct!
Pardon the language but I opened the visual tools and immediately said "oh this is cool as fuck"
I love this stuff. Thanks!
