[Opinions] Madeleine
I’m beginning to really like this name for a girl. What does everyone else think of it? And do you like Maddie as a nickname? I think Maddie is a cute nickname for Madeleine/Madeline.

It reminds me of the cake, and the pronunciation is nebulous. MAD-LEN is alright, MA-du-line is pretty, but looks better spelt Madeline, MAD-u-lin is ugly. I prefer Magdalene to all of them. Maddie sounds unpleasant.

I like it. The French spelling is a lot fresher and has much more class than Madeline, which I feel is a bit tired. I don’t like Maddie as a nickname, though.

Madeleine was my preferred spelling when I first joined bc the BSB song Madeleine (off their... *counts* seventh? album), but now I like the look of Madeline (and Madelyn) way better - they look more natural, I guess you could say? idk... I struggle with finding words sometimes. lol Maddie is also cute.

Classic and BeautifulA long-time favorite of mine. Not particularly fond of Maddie though, which is why I wouldn't consider using it as a first name.
Madeline is lovely as well. I'm just more inclined to the spelling of Madeleine (:

I think it is beautiful, but the nickname Maddie is boring. I'd probably go with Lena.

I like the name in theory but all I think of is the poor little dead girl and how much I hope her parents will be one day held accountable for her death (either by manslaughter or for child endangerment). It don't help that she's in our media all the time, and has been since 2007I prefer Madison and Matilda as alternatives, and out of the two options, I prefer the Madeline spelling.

So boringIt looks pretty, but the sounds bore me to death. Maddie is especially offensive in that respect.

A bit boring, but overall not bad

It's not terrible but it's one of those prissy, prim kind of classic names, like Charlotte or Amelia.
Maddie is obnoxious. Maddie and Gracie and Ellie and Sophie and Lily, yap yap yap.

Prefer Magdalena.Madeleine is a bit boring, and lacks the antiqueness of Magdalena.

I like Madeleine and Madeline as full names, but hate the nickname Maddie. It all feels a little 90s, but I don’t mind the full names.

It felt like it was the name of every other little girl in the early 2000s. Little Madeleine's would be friends with Madison and they'd both be Maddie or Maddy. It's a pretty name but needs a rest.Madeleine Gabrielle
Madeleine Suzette
Madeleine Justine
Madeleine Isabel
Madeleine RubyRose Madeleine
Cora Madeleine
Erica Madeleine
Veronica Madeleine

It's very 90s dated, especially with the nickname Maddie. No, I hate Maddie. It destroys the name for me. But I do think it's avoidable. Maddie is so 90s.I like Madeline and Madeleine. I dislike Madelyn and any other spelling. So yes, I do like it but only the full name and only the two spellings above. But it doesn't exactly feel fresh.
