Unpleasant. Sounds aggressive, and the biblical story isn't encouraging either.

I like it. I'm not too familiar with the religious stuff, so I just see it as a cool historical but also modern-sounding place name. Also a little hipster?

It's a bit too much, Jeremy is similar which is nice

Ostentatiously Old Testament. Also geographical, which I dislike. There are better ways of achieving a son known as Jerry.

Too religiousIt sounds like something an Evangelical Christian would name their son. Poor son!

Only terrible if you aren't an Evangelical Christian!

Surely even the most Evangelical of Christians would pause before naming a child after an enemy city left triumphantly ruined by an invading force? Wouldn't it be like a German parent in the 1940s naming a child Coventry, or an English parent naming a child Dresden? I would feel very uncomfortable about it.

I don't know...I'm rarely surprised by Evangelical Christians' behavior these days.

dittoIt would seem odd to name a kid after a city that is most famous for being destroyed. Maybe someone unfamiliar with the Torah and Bible might use it if they like the sound.

It would be kind of weird... but the sounds are cool.
That may be why?
I actually really like Jericho, and I think it’s a cool name... I wouldn’t use it, but it does have an appealing sound to me.
And I know all about the story of the walls of Jericho, but it doesn’t repel me like some names... I’m not exactly sure why either.
Other than the phonetic sounds, i suppose.

I think it's an underappreciated name, and probably the only Jer- name I actually like. It's also not as bizarre in real life as it might seem on paper. I once met the poet Jericho Brown (https://www.amazon.com/Jericho-Brown/e/B002A58KDC?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_2&sr=8-2), very nice man and what a way with words.

Well, I'm gonna be honest, I LOVE IT! Also, it reminds me of that AMAZING Andrew Ripp song. Just hope his friends don't have priests to march around him with! LOL, just kidding. But seriously, I love it.

I love it! One of my favorite names. Strong, uncommon but not “out there”.
