[Opinions] Pumpkin
What would you think if you met a woman in her early 40's named Pumpkin?

Weird
I would be surprised that she hadn't changed it as soon as she legally could.
I’d dearly hope it was a nickname. I can’t imagine someone naming their child Pumpkin and thinking they’re doing them a favor.
Pumpkin is a great name for a cat, or a cute name for a small child.

That’s one of the absolute stupidest names I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s tacky and nauseatingly cutesy - were her parents autumn-enthusiasts?
I would find it weird and assume it was a nickname. Pumpkin is fine for a pet, but not for a person imo.
I would strongly assume it was a nickname, or at least hoped it to be. 0_o And if not, I would wonder why her parents hated her.
I would think she was not very bright, to either still go by a babyish nn like Pumpkin or to have not resorted to a middle name or some other name if her parents were dumb enough to name her Pumpkin.
It's one of our cats' names. She's fat and orange and we got her inear Halloween.
It would feel ridiculous to call someone Pumpkin, especially not someone I didn't know well. It's just inappropriate, like calling someone Sweetie or Honeybunch.

I'd think it's a nn, terrible as a first name

hahaha
...not very mature but that'd be my thought. And/or that it's not as bad as Bumpkin, Squash, Sweetums.
Then if she was someone I interacted with regularly, I'd go out of my way to figure out things that pumpkins can symbolize so that I wouldn't feel like I was calling her an endearment all the time. Or in the words of Yayoi Kusama, “I would confront the spirit of the pumpkin...”

was her last name Spice or Spicer? lol j/k but seriously, as far as TOE* names go, the only one I can kinda tolerate is Honey. Anything other than that is a no from me, and Pumpkin is no exception!

My dad calls me pumpkin. As a nickname it’s okay, but an actual first name is just straight up questionable. And even though I don’t really like pumpkin as a nick name.
