Yes, James is for a girl.
What do you think of these names? How would you rank them from favorite to least favorite? What would you think if they were in a sibset?

Marjorie is an "oldie but a goodie" - a name formerly perceived as old-fashioned that I can seriously see making a comeback. It's sweet, too. (But only this spelling. I don't like Margery at all.)
Constance is a childhood favorite, largely due to The Three Musketeers. I'd more likely use it as a pseudonym for myself, or a character, than on a descendant.
James... well, it's not just a popular masculine name. It one of the statistically most popular masculine names in all Anglophone culture. It does not belong on baby girls. Just... stop. Please.

I think they all have different yet weirdly similar vibes. James is like Wallis, maybe.
Marjorie seems like she'd be the sophisticated older sister.
Constance is the middle child who never wants to rock the boat.
James is the ambitious wild child, or she's like modern Amy March.

I liked James, until you said for a girl. I don’t like Marjorie either, because it seems so old-fashioned and sounds like margarine. Favorite to least: Constance, Marjorie, James. I feel I saw them in a sibset, I would assume James was a boy and feel sorry for her when I found out it was a girl. Also, the others are old fashioned and James on a girl seems so modern that it doesn’t go together at all.

Hate James. Sorry, that's just unfair. I knew a Jamie (f) and even with a slightly less masculine version of the name she was always either getting called Janie or people expected a boy when they saw her name on paper. She also passionately hated her name, borderline resented her parents for calling her that, and ended up legally changing her name. It made her very miserable. Apparently Jamie can be a girls' name, but I've never met another Jamie (f) and neither had she (UK, we've both met many male Jamies, which is common here) and everyone always assumed she was a boy before meeting her - as she was a very classy, feminine young woman, she did not care for this and her name really didn't suit her. She's much happier with her new name.
I don't really like unisex names on girls that much I will admit, but there's a difference between calling your girl Robin or Madison and James (and James is worse than Jamie) or Samuel. To me, at least.
I dislike Marjorie, but Constance is kind of cool, in a retro battle-axe kind of way.

I don't totally love James for a girl but I like it. It's just a lovely name on either gender.
Marjorie is weird. Sometimes I'm hit with waves of love for it only to decide it's cumbersome five minutes later. It definitely looks great.
Constance is fine but kind of anemic and flat.
A bit discordant for a set in my opinion. But I don't hate it.

I approve of Constance and Marjorie; they'd make me laugh on littluns, but not in a bad way. I'd be mad if James were in the sibset too.
I like Constance a little more than Marjorie. Marjorie is more fun but also gross. It's like jam. I have to wash my hands. I think Constance is handsome and tidy like a crisp butter cracker. Connie is attractive to me; Marj/Marjie is just not.

I like Marjorie. I'm a little sad about people associating it with margarine - that's a pretty bad association. I don't have it myself though.
I like Constance. I'm not thrilled about how it sounds or the nn's. I like Constantia more. I would use Marjorie first.
James for a girl - its appeal to me personally is less than zero, I dislike the name and additionally dislike the usage for a girl, but it's acceptable.
As a sibset: honestly I'd think, maybe they were only having three kids, and Dad really wanted a namesake so they named the last one James regardless.

I think I’d take the trendeigh route and use Jaymes for a female James tbh.

I'd put Marjorie first: it counts as classic and is due for a come-back. And it's a family name. I also like Constance, and Con is fine but I'm not keen on Connie.

If I met a sibset like this, I'd think there were some psychological issues at play; like they really really wanted James to be a boy, and when she was born a girl they just refused to change the name or something. I wouldn't mark this as an "edgy" set that is interested in pushing gender boundaries - both Marjorie and Constance are too conservative to make enough of a statement for that.
