[Opinions] Re: Cloris

I rather like Cloris myself -- I tend to be fond of any name containing the "or" sound.
I wrote a column on the name back in 2013 when Leachman's birthday fell on the date my column was published. Her life story includes some wonderful information about the name -- including that Tallulah Bankhead called her "Clorox Bleachman", and that she decided NOT to change her name for her acting career even those others advised her to because when she randomly opened a phone book to try to find a new name, the first one she saw was "Leavitt":

Back in the early nineties there was a cartoon called "Captain Planet and the Planeteers" with a go-green-save-the-planet theme to it. One of the villains was called Chlorine Bleachman, no doubt inspired by Cloris Leachman.
Oh, I'm so sad that I can't read it! Apparently the site is blocked in the UK (and the EU).
If you send me your email in a private message I will send you a copy as an attachment.
