I don't really like it. I would rather use Rachel.

I went through a phase where I really liked this name. It seemed to have a sexy neo-primitive edge to it that seemed very cool. Rakel too. I'm pretty over it now.

It sounds 80's or 90's to me. It's not bad but I barely ever think about it.

Rakel (RA-kel) is one of the first names I remember noticing and thinking “Wow, I really like that sound”. Raquel (ra-KEL) feels like a consolation price in comparison to me. The pale, lesser version. Do I hate it? No. But it’s by no means my favourite version.1) Rakel
2) Rachel
3) Raquel

For most of my life, in the US, the name was pretty closely associated with actress Raquel Welch. She had such a sexy image, it would have felt weird to give a baby that name. She is no longer active professionally, so that is probably lessoning. But that's still my reflex association and reaction to the name.

I'm sure it's fine, but it doesn't happen where I live, so I never give it a thought. I do like Rachel, but only as a mn.

Nice, nn Rocky.

It's a nice, sharp iambic name. Definitely one of the stronger female names imo. I was obsessed with it as a MN for a while

I actually prefer Raquel to Rachel, and think the nickname Rocki is fun.

I much prefer Rakel or Rachela or Rachel, but Raquel is good too, I like it. It has a very energetic and dynamic feel to it, and is strong, but not too harsh.
