I watched a documentary on the English family folk group The Watersons. One of the members is named Elaine and goes by the nickname Lal; pronounced LAL.
What are your thoughts on the name Lal as a nickname for Elaine. Elaine may seem frumpy and old fashion but with the nick name Lal it seems more hip and young.
Curious does anyone have any knowledge of other Elaines going by Lal?
