[Opinions] Re: Merricat
I'm inspired! I'm going to name a cat Americat someday.I think it's very fiction-y to spell Mary Kat "Merricat." Is she a Merrisioux?
It's still Mary Kat. Like Mary Kate. Marikat could be neat. I could kinda like it.But the Merricat spelling is so synthetic it's annoying to me. Merry Cat ... kind of clownish.- mirfak

I'm not sure about the movie the poster is referencing but this is a character in a beautifully written thriller novel by Shirley Jackson. She isn't a Mary Sue!

The movie I saw was “We Have Always Lived in the Castle”. I didn’t know until now that it was based on a book.

Oh, okay. I looked it up and instead she is a sociopathic killer. Nice.

Yes, that's my issue, too.

I'm pretty sure the movie is a film adaptation of the novel... I doubt there's another story out there with such a unique name being used as a nickname for Mary Katherine.
