[Opinions] Anastacia
Got inspired by Kerry.G's post.I like both Anastasia and Anastacia, though I have a bias in favour of the latter because of the singer and the "s" isn't repetitive. The singer pronounces her name as a-nas-TAY-shah.What do you think of Anastacia? Is Anastasia / Anastacia used in your country? When I found out that Anastasia is still being used in Spain, I got very surprised, since it's regarded as an old name there.

When I see Anastacia, I pronounce it the Spanish way (STA-sya), rather than how the singer (who I've not heard of) does. It's pretty. When I see Anastasia, I pronounce the ending like the continent Asia. Ay-shuh. Or Ayz-zyah? It seems more swishy and less precise. It's okay, but I don't like it as much.

It's a beautiful name.
I've not heard of the singer.
I like the way Anastasia looks, better.
But I like the sound of Anastacia better - it forces a different pronunciation.
Anastasia would be Anna-STAY-zha here, ending like Asia, as in 'anesthesia.'
But Anastacia couldn't be pronounced -zha, it would have to be -sha. Yay!
I like the name better when the third A is pronounced like in Spanish, and there's no word STAY in it. But -STAY-sha is much better than -STAYZ-ya.
The -cia ending looks unfashionable, like Marcia, Patricia, Alicia.I met a young Anastasia a few years ago. She'd be born around 2006. She was from another country, I don't know which, but I got a Russian or Eastern Europe vibe.

I dislike Anastacia. I am sorry, but it looks really misspelled. Yes, it is 100% the singer which is why I would avoid it, I dislike names that immediately make you think of a single person. I do like Anastasia, spelled like this it is classic and beautiful. YYes, it is used in my country, but not Anastacia.

I prefer Anastasia myself though both are used here to the best of my knowledge. Anastasia is definitely the more popular spelling though. I would use Anastacia if I desired to arrive to the NN Stacie.
