[Opinions] Re: Kayla
Unfortunately I primarily associate it with a girl I knew in primary school, whose parents must have been struggling with something (poverty, addiction, mental health, any combination thereof...). She and her siblings were frequently late to school, often looked a bit underfed, were always a bit scruffy and/or dressed in the cheapest facsimile of the school uniform, had poor manners and boundaries, tended to steal small items (I remember she took one of my scrunchies and I was FURIOUS haha), and were often out and about in the evening when most kids our age were at home. We were friends, but not always easily so. The link between the name and a perpetual state of deprivation plus a tendency towards tempestuous friendships is pretty indelible for me.
