I just realized this is the name of the down my dad's step dad was born in, and it's also the name of my favorite song,
Winona by Drop Nineteens (
https://youtu.be/iXorpwa8Y30). Looking into it,
Winona was named after the daughter of a settler who owned a hotel there,
William Gwinn.
Winona is also a ghost town, which is eerie and cool. It was a very important city when coal was a thing and now about 200 people live there.
This makes me love this name so much! Just the hsitorical meaning, and the dreamy, sad song.
What do you think though?
