Love it! My DH and I both really like this more unusual biblical name.

I like Talitha, but when said quickly I think the sound could be easily slurred / turned to mush. (It's why I prefer Tabitha.) Tali is a cute nickname, though.

I like it. One of my cousins has a young daughter named Talitha.

I like Litha, and I like Tabitha, but for some reason Talitha has never worked for me. Maybe because it's from a bible story? Maybe because it means "little girl" which kind of freaks me out?

And 'Talitha, cumi' was widely used in the late 19th century by the esrly feminists. In the Bible, the idea seems to be to illustrate the extent of Jesus's compassion - a Roman soldier, and they were the occupying force and generally hated, asked him to heal his daughter, and Jesus agreed. When they got to the house, they found her dead, but the words 'Talitha, cumi' (Aramaic for Little girl, get up) revived her. So it became a feminist slogan, and girls' schools, nursing colleges etc took it as their name. As did some humans, and still do. I far prefer it to Tabitha and would like to use it IRL.

I didn't know that about the feminist stuff, that's interesting.

I for one think it’s really pretty. Soft, feminine, and lofty. I don’t mind that it means “little girl”. If anything I find it quite sweet. Tabitha is okay, but I prefer Talitha.

As a Tabitha, I don't like it. It's so similar to my name that it feels wrong, like a misspelling.
