[Opinions] Aisling
Thoughts on Aisling? It is a long time favorite but at the moment it is close to the top of my list again.I love the meaning and sound.I like ASH-leen best but I also like ASH-linn and ASH-ling.What is your favorite pronunciation? If you are from Ireland or the UK: What would your pronunciation be if you read the name somewhere? Your first guess? Is it dated to you? Please rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

The one I know (in Northern Ireland) pronounces it ASH-leen. It’s ok, it does feel a little dated because it was more popular in the 80s/90s. I like the meaning.

ASH-leen is the pretty one IMO.
It's kind of unnatural for me to say, in my American accent. The unstressed long E feels forced. I think I could get used to saying it, though, if I knew one who said it that way.I don't care for ASH-lin - too indistinguishable from boring Ashlyn - nor ASH-ling, since the "ling" ending turns me off.
