I only like Auggie. If not them, just plain August.

Auggie is my favorite

I prefer August as is. Augustus I could tolerate being a 'Gus', since the second syllable is emphasized.Auggie is too childish.

I love Gus!

Um.. I like Oz, Ozzy and Austin the best (the latter suggested by Felie).
I don't like Gus, Gussie or Gusty.
Auggie is cute, but can be outgrown quickly.

Hi !!!I've never thought about Oz, Ozzy or Ozzie as nicknames for August.I like these nicknames also as standalone names (strange for my habits as I dislike NNs). I really like how they sounds.

I do too, maybe due to The Wizard association. They just sound cool.
I also often do not like nicknames as standalone names, but there are exceptions.

I know an adult Auggie and words can’t describe how much I loathe it. It’s so infantile and gooey and poopy. I like August / Augustus as is with the occasional nickname of Gus.

Gus

Definitely Gus. Auggie sounds stuffy and stiff. For August I personally wouldn't nickname at all.
