I think it’s a very beautiful name. I have an American Girl doll named Kaya. I slightly prefer this spelling with the ‘i’ though. Kind of like how I prefer Maia to Maya.

its ok, do you pronounce it Ky a or Kaya. I prefer Kaya. I think Kaia would have a few issues with spelling/pronounciation

I pronounce it "Ky-uh". I thought this spelling wouldn't be as confusing with pronunciation. Whereas, Kaya could be pronounced as "Kay-uh" or mistaken for Kayla. I like both spellings and pronunciations, personally. But, Kaia is strictly "Ky-uh".

I'd be surprised to meet one where I live. In at least two South African languages, it means House, or, more precisely, the kind of toilet housed in a separate building, away from a farmhouse, with no plumbing, just a long-drop. It is pronounced KEYEa, which if you don't pronounce the -r, rhymes with Fire.

Oh! In the states, we call that an "Outhouse". We used to have one of those. It was AWFUL during the winter, lmao.

I pronounce Kaia the same way, "Ky-uh".
