I don't like it as a given name at all. I'd hate to see it used even more if it's not pronounced correctly.

I’m going to make one blanket statement about all names based on the names of deities around the world. Unless your culture -YOURS- has a long history of using it as a given name, it is disrespectful. No Jezus, no Jesusa, no Vishnu, no Ganesh, no Allah, etc.

People who want to swear but aren't quite up to saying or writing 'Jesus!' tend to use 'Jeez' instead. That is what Jezus makes me think of. As a name given in all seriousness to a living child that one intends to love, it's hopelessly inappropriate.

It is exclusively used to refer to Jesus Christ.

Hate it.
It's right up there with the stupid idea of naming a kid Jesus.
