I have good associations with women named Jamie in my own life, and I actually don't dislike it at all. It does feel dated, though. By the time my peers, including one very close friend growing up, were given the name, it was already on a downward trajectory. (My close friend, Jamie Alexandria, was named in honor of her father, James Alexander, who was killed before she was born.)

I like it as a nickname for James. It feels timeless in a way that Jim/Jimmy most certainly don't.

It feels strictly masculine to me, and even then, very nickname-y, with the expectation that he'll start going by James once he's older than 12.

But if I'm being entirely honest, I'd rather nickname a son Jamie and have his real name be James than legally name a daughter Jamie. It's because she won't have a longer name to fall back on in case she doesn't like it, unless I give her a middle name.

I won't be naming her Jamesina or Jamesa just to call her Jamie, so yeah. It's adorable on both genders, and it does sound rather femenine, but it would be fresher on a guy after all of this trendy stuff.

Jamie is one of the rare truly unisex names. I like the sound of it, it's easy to spell, and I only have good associations with it.

I way prefer it on men. I think it's a hair dated on women.

It isn't unisex where I live. The only Jamie I know is the son of a friend, and his full name is James, as I would have expected. I like it better than Jim(my). The one I know is trying to get people to call him James, but it doesn't seem to be working 100%. I love James and like Jamie a lot.

To me it feels more Timeless on a boy. The only female Jamie's that I know are all middle-aged women worn down by life, like the female Robin's. Male name all the way imo. I'd use it as a nickname for James.
