This is the name of my cat (see pic in signature) so I obviously really like it. In fact I LOVE it, which is why I didn't hesitate to give it to her. I have nothing but the highest regard for this gorgeous, gorgeous name. (:

I like it. It’s my unofficial middle name (long story) and the name of a beloved aunt of my mother’s, so I think of her.

I like it well enough. It reminds me of Beetlejuice (because I'm old, apparently).

It's not attractive in sound. I've never met one, so the only strong impression is of Elizabeth Bennet's sister in Pride & Prejudice, who is definitely not someone I would be naming a child after.

It's in my top 10 and I would name a daughter Lydia without hesitation. I think it's a beautiful name full of cadence and melody; it's heard of but not popular, not much nickname potential but short enough and nice enough on its own not to need a nickname, classic and full of history but not dated or dusty. It even starts with L and ends in -ia, two patterns I really enjoy. It's basically a perfect name for me. I imagine a Lydia would be intelligent and funny - spunky, independent, and rebellious, with a softer sweeter side. I also have some flirty and flighty associations left over from Lydia Bennet, but I don't mind that too much.Lydia Elodie

Lydia is beautiful of course, but it's got the tiniest bit of 'mean girls' vibe that stops me from fully enjoying it.

I like Lydia, and you don't hear it too often. I used to work with a Lydia. She was a laid back person who never got real upset about anything. She was easy to talk to and down to Earth.

It's a good name. It's been growing on me. I like Lydie even more. Lydie and Sylvie have been really creeping up on me lately.
