[Facts] Help with pronunciation of the name "Miadhachlughain"
I read the name Miadhachlughain today. As far as I was able to make out, it's an Irish female name, but I am not certain. Can anybody help me with the pronunciation of this name, or tell me more about it?

I can't help with pronunciation confidently but as per your request for more information on the name, this appears to be a combination of Miadhach and Lughán which are both in the submitted names database.

Thank you for pointing this out, I hadn't realised!

I asked an Irish friend for the pronunciation, and this was his response:"I would say something like [ME-ock-LOO-an], and sounding very like the name "McLuhan" when you use it in a sentence."

Another friend from a different part of Ireland said "Mi-aw-LOO-on". They also said that it's almost certainly something the person's parents made up, rather than a traditional name. The first friend said it was a male name as did a third Irish friend.

Thank you very much! I would never have guessed any of those pronunciations... I got the name from a female Irish singer, interesting that your friends both said it is a male name!

Mayve a clue ayn -would be my guess. Dh I’m pretty sure makes the v sound and gh I’m pretty sure is a silent h. I’m not from Ireland and it’s been a long time since I studied the language. Good luck!
