Unpopular opinion, but I find Adelaide sort of ugly. It’s sort of old ladyish, snobby, and the English pronunciation reminds me of lemonade. I like the pronunciation in European countries better: a-dell-a-dee, but even then it’s not good. I do like the names that come from it though. Ada, Heidi, Aida, Adelina and Alice are all wonderful.

I love the name. Classic yet not tired.

Adelaide gives off an air of sophistication without being too cold, imo. Though I normally prefer Adeline, there is the potential for pronunciation confusion (I prefer the "leen" ending, though a lot of people might say "lien" instead), whereas with Adelaide the pronunciation is obvious.

I like the name a lot.I have a personal weird naming tendency where I prefer names with an "n" sound in them, particularly for girls. For this reason, I think I would go with Adeline if used as a first name. I do like the idea of Adelaide as a middle name in any context, though.

I adore Adelaide. I like most of the names in the “noble type” family. Alice, Alicia, Aleida, yeah. They’re all just good names.

Adelaide is dignified, but I prefer Adeline, which has the same vibe but it is more modest.

It sounds level-headed, but romantic. Aristocratic.
