[Opinions] Morgan
Morgan is a name that I’ve heard a lot. Although, I’ve heard Megan/Meghan/Meagan more than Morgan. I view it as a unisex name but I’ve personally met more girls with the name. It doesn’t seem to have as much popularity as it did years ago. I really like the sound of it and I prefer it to Megan. What are your opinions on the name Morgan?Formerly, wheelbarrow4

I knew far more girls named Morgan than boys growing up, but as I've gotten older that number has reversed. I tend to think Morgan will age better on a boy than a girl.

I don't much like it, but I prefer it as a masculine name.

It works for both, but I find it more masculine because of Morgan Freeman. I don’t really care for it honestly. Not bad, but it’s not my style for either gender.

I prefer almost all unisex names for boys, but I'd say Morgan I see as 50/50. Megan was so overused in my era, so I prefer Morgan>Megan for girls.

I really like this name as a masculine name, although I know this could be feminine since the Morgan (male) and Morgan (female) has different etymologies. However I prefer Megan for a girl. I think Megan and Morgan would make a great sibling names.

I am adamently opposed to people co-opting this entirely masculine name for girls especially since there are actual feminine versions - plural - that are so much more suitable and attractive for a girl. Related to too many male Morgans for any other attitude. Megan is just flat out the better option for a girl since it is actually a girl's name.

I like it. I think it's better than Megan and less popular and while I know some guys with the name, I think of girls first and definitely have heard of more girls with the name.

I have a Welsh ancestor, born at the turn of the 18th to 19th centuries, whose name was Morgan Davies. What he would have made of little Morgan girls, I can't imagine. To me, it's all boy and very nice; never been popular here for either boys or girls. I'd consider using it IRL.

It is very cute on a boy. I really dislike it on a girl. It is... very dated, very 80-90s on a girl.
I love it on a boy, with the knowing caveat that after it exploded as a girls' name, some people might find it too 'girly' for a boy. Maybe gendered things are outdated, eh?
I would absolutely use it as a boys' name, probably middle name.Morgana is just so much prettier for a girl. Or Morwenna? I absolutely dislike Megan/Meghan etc. now I think about it, no offense to any of those out there with the name (sure you're lovely) but the ones I've met to date have been really treacherous and gossipy and properly, viciously, mean as a rattlesnake.

I had a Megan and a Morgan in my brownies about 8 years ago. Due to association unfortunately I’m not fond of either name. I marginally prefer Megan to Morgan but not much.I did know a male Morgan too and he’ll be in his mid 20s now. Again due to association I prefer Morgan for a boy than a girl.
